Google’s Olympic Hub brings you closer to the Games

olythumbThe London 2012 Olympics have already begun and Google has launched a new Olympic Hub to bring the Games even closer.

Users can get the latest news in a flash or relive video highlights – a useful feature considering the time difference between London and Australia with many events talking place while we’re asleep.

Simply search for London 2012 and you’ll be given a link to the official website and a snapshot of the events which are about to take place.

If you to find out how the Australians are doing all you need to do is search for “Australia at the Olympics” for the latest news, Australia’s medal tally.

Of course you can perform this search for any other country your interested in as well to view the same information for them.

It’s also possible to track the most searched topics as well simply by hitting the Hot Searches section of Google.

And if it’s video you want then you can watch the highlights on YouTube on the Official Olympic Channel and also relive the greatest Olympic moments of the past.

Australians are not able to access the live feed of events from YouTube as the rights are held by local broadcasters Channel 9 and Foxtel.
