Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia has announced the new PlayStation VR2 will launch on February 22nd, 2023 with pre-orders commencing on November 15.

The PlayStation VR2 will be priced at $879.95 and will include the PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones.

The PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station will be available separately for $79.95 to enable users to charge the Sense controller without the need to connect it to the PS5 console.

The virtual reality headset will be supported by the world’s top gaming developers who are busily creating next generation games and experiences.

Horizon Call of the Mountain will also be available for pre-order starting this month.

Customers can also purchase the PlayStation VR Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle for $959.95 which includes a PlayStation Store voucher code for Horizon Call of the Mountain, the PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones.

PS VR2 will include a see-through view so users can check their real-life surroundings without removing the headset thanks to the PS VR2’s embedded front cameras.

These can be accessed using the function button on the headset to switch between viewing your surroundings and the content through the headset.

The PS VR 2 will also allow you to broadcast yourself while you’re playing by connecting a PS5 HD camera to the console.

The PS VR2 will also allow you to use your space wisely and safely. The onboard cameras can scan the room and map the playing zone to fit your environment.

Also onboard the PS VR2 is VR Mode and Cinematic Mode.

In VR Mode users can enjoy a 360-degree view in a virtual environment with content displayed in 4000 x 2040 HD video format – that’s 2000 x 2040 per eye with a 90Hz/120Hz frame rate.

In Cinematic Mode, the PS VR2 can view the PS5 system and UI along with non-VR game and media content on a virtual cinema screen.

Cinematic Mode will be displayed in 1920 x 1080 HDR video format with either 24/60Hz and 120Hz frame rate.

The PlayStation VR2 goes on sale on February 22, 2023 and pre-orders kick off on November 15.
