HOMELife Technology has launched the idem Smart Reminder Clock in Australia – a device designed to make it easier for people living at home with dementia and for them to receive remote care.

The idem Smart Reminder Clock, available now for $649, is a connected dementia friendly clock that can display four types of communication – reminders, messages, calendar events and Post It notes.

The benefits for a person living with dementia using the idem Smart Reminder Clock is reduced anxiety and disorientation – there is a clear display of the date and time.

It also allows your loved to still maintain a high level of autonomy in their own home while supporting healthy routines, medication compliance and a family connection.

It also gives caregivers peace of mind being able to receive confirmations that messages and reminder have been received and read.

With Reminders it helps set a daily routine and supports images and provides a way for the user to confirm tasks have been completed.

For example, the reminder might be to take medication and the user can confirm it has been taken.

This notification will then be received by the family or a carer.

Messages can include photos and could be sent to express love and support with the sender receiving a read receipt to confirm it has been received and read.

Calendar Events cans be reminders for upcoming visits, doctor’s appointments and other events.

And Post It notes can be easily accessed for quick answers to frequently asked questions.

All the idem Smart Reminder Clock’s features and functions can be managed remotely through a family member’s or carer’s smartphone on the free idem companion app.

The device can also read reminders and messages out loud in one of 13 languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Greek, Arabic,

Vietnamese, Filipino, Cantonese (traditional Chinese) and Mandarin (simplified Chinese).

The device connects via wi-fi or 4G. 4G connectivity is built into the device for those who don’t have wi-fi. 4G connection is priced at $14.95 a month and can be activated remotely so there is no need to visit a telco.

The idem Smart Reminder Clock is available now from homelifetech.com.au and is priced at $649.

HOMELife Technology: a Sydney-based, Australian-owned and operated, assistive technology company with  a mission to find the world’s best products that enhance quality of life, independence and physical and mental wellbeing.
