Safe-Tec smart bicycle helmet has Alexa built-in
Cyclists can stay safe and also stay connected with the new Safe-Tec helmet that we saw at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The bicycle helmet already has technology built-in with the LED turn indicators and brake lights so others on the road can see exactly where you’re going.
But the new Safe-Tec Tyr Plus helmet includes Alexa so riders can operate the helmet and handle their calls with their voice while they’re riding.
There is a remote control for the indicators on the helmet but you can also just say “Alexa, turn left” and “Alexa, turn right”.
The brake light comes on automatically thanks to the onboard motion sensor.
Also onboard the Safe-Tec Tyr Plus helmet are bone induction speakers so you can hear your music or your calls through your skull and in your head.
This means you don’t need to have anything in your ears to listen to your content.
The helmet also has Bluetooth and can be paired with your smartphone.
Alexa also comes in to play for you to answer your calls hands-free while you’re riding and to also play and control your music.
Users can even access navigation on their device while they’re riding and receive turn-by-turn directions on the move as well.
And, of course, the Safe-Tec Tyr Plus has an in-mould construction and an adjustable headlock.
It also has a built-in lithium ion battery and can be charged with the included USB-C cable.
The helmet is also rated IP65 which makes it water resistant.
The Safe-Tec Tyr Plus smart helmet is priced at $US199 and is available now from safetechelmets.com.
