LG launches a capsule coffee machine that’s out of this world

LG has unveiled the Duobo – its first capsule coffee machine – to make it even easier to brew good coffee and with a futuristic design that looks out of this world.

Introduced by LG Labs, Duobo includes a dual-capsule extraction system for two shot layered blending to give users a chance to create their own blends.

On the design side, the LG Duobo looks like space capsule has just landed on your kitchen bench.

It has three legs that look like landing gear supporting the capsule brewing compartment.

In fact, LG chose July 20 as the launch date for Duobo to commemorate the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969.

The Duobo companion app offers complete control with the ability to adjust temperature and pressure to your taste.

And the machine is compatible with capsules from various brands so customers have a wide choice of blends and strengths.

It also has a full HD display which is where users can see Duobo’s exclusive animations and other coffee-related content.

To mark the launch of the Duobo, LG Labs teamed up with the best baristas in the world at the US Barista Championships at The Lost Draft Cafe in the trendy Soho district of New York City.

“DUOBO is truly an innovative product, redefining the entire coffee experience from the art of crafting and savouring the perfect cup to establishing meaningful connections with our valued customers,” said Lee Hyang-eun, managing director of the Customer Experience Innovation Division at LG Electronics.

“With our unwavering commitment to excellence, we will strive to offer unparalleled customised solutions that cater specifically to each individual’s preferences, ensuring a personalised and delightful coffee journey where customer participation plays a vital role.”

The DUOBO by LG Labs is available for crowdfunding on Kickstarter starting July 20. Coffee aficionados and early adopters can save 50 percent with the limited Super Early Bird deal offered exclusively on Kickstarter. To learn more about DUOBO, visit
