The sports watch has just been upgraded significantly with the release of the Garmin Forerunner 610.

It combines the world’s first high sensitivity weather-proof touchscreen interface and GPS technology in a stylish and compact design.

The Forerunner 610 can be your ultimate training partner when you’re ready to hit the road and monitor the results.   

The touchscreen can handle all weather conditions including rain and sweat and it can even be operated when wearing running gloves.

 

On board is a new Virtual Racer which allows runners to compete against their previous best times using data stored on the watch.

Virtual Racer can also offer runners the chance to compete against other runners once data is downloaded from the Garmin Connect community.

The Garmin Forerunner 610 is the ultimate training partnerIf used with a heart rate monitor strap the Forerunner 610 experience is stepped up a gear.

Vibration controls come into play for alerts when monitoring heart rate, pace, distance because audible alerts can’t always be heard.

The Garmin Forerunner 610 will be available in Australia from next month. Local pricing is yet to be announced but in the US it will cost $US349.
