Garmin’s new golf GPS products will shave shots
The Approach G3 is a rugged handheld GPS unit with a 2.6-inch touchscreen colour display which can easily be seen even in bright sunlight.
It is also water resistant so there is no need to worry even if it starts raining during your round.
The device comes with more than 600 Australian courses preloaded so there are no additional fees or set up costs to get started.
So no matter where you happen to travel with your clubs around the country you’ll still be ready to tee off with the latest maps at your fingertips.
Each hole is accurately mapped and includes all the sand traps, hazards, fairways and greens.
Users can easily tap anywhere on the screen to measure distances.
There’s also a manual pin position function which allows players to drag and drop the flag icon to the corresponding position on the green so they can make sure they choose the right club.
The Approach S1 manages to fit all of these features into a watch.
The S1 has the same amount of data on board as the G3 without the player being weighed down and it is just as rugged and weatherproof.
The device has an easy-to-use watch interface that combines the feature you’d normally find on a digital timepiece along with the advanced Approach features.
“The Approach G3 and Approach S1 redefine the golf GPS category,” says Ian Edwards, national sales manager, Garmin Australasia.
“This exciting range continues a proud Garmin tradition of bringing the benefits of GPS technology to a broad breadth of applications outside of the traditional set.
“The Approach range is designed with one purpose in mind – to help you make the most of your time on the golf course.
“The advanced technology, proven form factors and our passion for extending the depth of GPS applications in the market are all embodied in the Approach range.”
The Approach G3 and Approach S1 are available now and are priced at $399 and $299 respectively.
