Modern technology gives us many things.

Sony launches its new Vaio computer range

vaiopro1Sony has become the latest company to announce their impressive new Vaio notebook and Ultrabook range during the Computex technology show.

The new line-up is made up of four models – the Vaio Pro, Vaio Duo, Vaio Fit and the Vaio Fit E.

Sony’s new products are designed to be use by a wide range of customers from students to executives and feature thin and eye-catching designs.

Included across all the new models is NFC (near field communication) which will enable one-touch Bluetooth pairing and content sharing.

The products also bring together the best of Sony’s technologies including the Triluminos display that’s used on the Bravia TVs and provides a wider range of richer and more vibrant colours.

Also on board is the Sony X-Reality engine for mobile for enhanced screen resolution and full high definition IPS (in plane switching) for clear viewing at any angle.

On the audio side there are also ClearAudio+ and XLoud technologies at work for excellent sound quality.

The super thin and light Sony Vaio Pro

VAIO PRO $1,299 (11-inch) and $1,399 (13-inch)

Available in 11-inch and 13-inch versions, the Vaio Pro is the world’s lightest ultrabook with a touchscreen thanks to its carbon fibre construction – the same material used in aircraft and Formula 1 cars – which offers unequalled strength to weight ratio.

The Vaio Pro 11 weighs just 0.87kg while the Vaio Pro 13 tips the scales at 1.06kg.

The Vaio Pro ultrabooks will be available in the first half of June.

The Sony Vaio Duo

VAIO DUO $1,699

One minute it’s a tablet and a few seconds later it’s a laptop.

The Sony Vaio Duo has a 13-inch screen and uses a unique surf slider mechanism for a quick transition between tablet and keyboard modes.

The convertible Vaio Duo uses standby technology to maintain a constant connection to the internet to receive updates and emails but can also wake from sleep in one second.

The Sony Vaio Duo 13 will be available in early July.

The Sony Vaio Fit

VAIO FIT $1,499

The Vaio Fit has a sturdy aluminium construction with a full high definition LCD display.

It has a hybrid hard disk drive which offers access speeds that are three times faster than a regular hard drive.

It has a 750GB capacity and an integrated flash memory cache so you can still have high volume storage as well as speed.

The Vaio Fit is available this month.

VAIO FIT E $999

Users will appreciate the audio quality you can get with the Sony Vaio E whether you’re listening to music or watching a movie.

It has the same ClearAudio+ and XLoud technologies found in the Vaio Duo and Pro models and is available to buy this month.

The new Vaio range will be available from Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Sony Centres and Sony Kiosks.
