The BlackBerry PlayBook will be available to buy in Australia on June 20 and will be priced from $579.

Customers can choose from three wi-fi only models in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.

It will be available at Harvey Norman stores on launch day along with Optus, Telstra and Vodafone outlets.  

Pricing for the 32GB and 64GB models will be announced closer to launch day. The 16GB price of $579 is identical to the price of the 16GB wi-fi only iPad.

The PlayBook has a 7-inch screen and is powered by a 1Ghz dual core processor.

It also has a 3 megapixel front facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera which is capable of recording full high definition 1080p video.
