Spotify music service introduces an account for the whole family

Spotify – the popular digital music service – has introduced a plan to allow up to five family members to share one account but with separate playlists and recommendations.

With Spotify Family, everyone gets their own account so don’t think you’ll have to listen to the same music as your kids or vice-versa.

Each person in the family will have their very own premium account to create their own playlists, receive separate recommendations and listen offline.

And the more family members on the account the cheaper it is for each person with a family of five paying just $35.99 per month in one payment.

“This is one of the most asked for features from our audience,” says Ken Parks, Chief Content Officer at Spotify.

“With today’s announcement we’re making it easier than ever for the whole family to experience Spotify Premium on their phones, at home and on the go.”

Spotify Premium costs $11.99 per month and each additional family member gets a 50 per cent discount.
