Modern technology gives us many things.

Dyson’s new V11 Outsize has a larger bin and larger cleaning head and even better suction

One of our favourite sayings is “go big or go home” and that’s exactly what Dyson has done with the release of the new V11 Outsize cordless vacuum which now includes a larger bin and larger cleaner head.

Dyson has also upgraded the regular V11 to the V11 Absolute Extra which, like the V11 Outsize, has 20 per cent more suction power than the previous model.

The thinking behind the Dyson V11 Outsize was to provide a faster more powerful way to clean larger homes in markets like Australia.

The company’s research showed larger homes need a product that offers deeper cleaning that also needed to cover larger areas.

Having a larger cleaning head and larger bin help achieve this goal.

The new larger cleaning head is 32cm wide – that’s 25 per cent wider than the regular head which allows users to cover more surface area with each pass.

Tech Guide has been using the Dyson V11 Outsize for a few days now.

We’ve been using to the regular V11 and were amazed at how larger the V11 Outsize bin and cleaner head are.

The bin is 150 per cent larger than the regular V11 which means you can vacuum longer without the need to empty the bin as often as before.

Not having these interruptions means you can get through your cleaning even faster.

The added size and slight weight increase has also been taken into account by the Dyson engineers with a redesigned handle to balance the added weight and size in your hand.

The V11 Outsize has been optimised for deeper cleaning and is powered by Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor which spins at a remarkable 125,000 rpm.

And 18 Dyson cyclones are what literally do all the heavy lifting to fling pollen, dust and particles into the bin.

The machine’s built-in filtration system traps 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns.

It also has a triple diffuser which helps balance the power and performance and reducing the noise.

The Dyson V11 Outsize is noticeably quieter despite being larger than the regular V11.

And the larger cleaner head has the same DLS (dynamic load sensor) which can intelligently detect different floor types.

The change in the brush bar resistance is communicated to the motor and the battery’s microprocessor to change the suction power.

The head had stiff nylon bristles which penetrate deep into carpet to remove the ground-in dirt and particles while anti-static carbon-fibre filaments capture dust from hard surfaces.

On the back of the handle is a small LCD screen which can let you know at a glance what mode the Dyson V11 Outsize is in along with an accurate estimated remaining run time.

This is where users will also receive reminders to clean filters.

It is also smart enough to let you know if there are any blockages and show you exactly where they are on this screen.

The question everyone asks about the Dyson cordless vacuums is about battery life.

In Eco mode you’ll get up to two hours’ worth of general cleaning but if you want to use Boost mode to turn everything up to maximum – this time is reduced to about 12 minutes.

With a larger cleaner head and a larger bin – you’re still going to get a lot done in this time – a lot more than if you were using a regular size V11.

But with the V11 Outsize, and the V11 Absolute Extra, the battery pack can be detached and replaced with a second fully charged battery pack which can be purchased separately for $199.

This means you can double your vacuuming time no matter which mode you choose.

The Dyson V11 Outsize is available now and is priced at $1,299. A V11 Outsize Pro model is also available with gold stick and gold colouring for $1,349.

The Dyson V11 Absolute Extra is $1,199.

VERDICT

The Dyson V11 Outsize is bigger and better and still offers the same high quality and excellent results you expect from a Dyson cordless vacuum.
