Sonos has introduced its new flagship soundbar – the Sonos Arc Ultra – which has been redesigned inside and out to deliver improved sound across the board to take your home entertainment experience to a whole new level.
Sonos is also debuting its Sonos Sub 4 which has a refreshed design and an internal redesign to provide a level of bass you can feel as well as hear.
Sonos Ultra Arc has been designed to pair with larger TVs and introduces a new transducer technology called Sound Motion which the company is calling one of the biggest breakthroughs in audio engineering in the last century.
Sound Motion significantly reduces the size of transducers while at the same time being able to create an even larger sound from these smaller components.
The result is clearer dialogue, deeper bass and a lot more detail in the sound – and it’s all housed in a sleek curved matte finish design that is slimmer than the previous models.
Under the hood are 14 Sonos-engineered drivers including a Sound Motion woofer and a group of tweeters with wave guides on either side to deliver a 9.1.4 spatial audio experience.
Customers can optimise the sound for their space using the Truplay feature on the Sonos app.
It has been fully optimised by movie professionals and fine-tuned for Dolby Atmos content to ensure a high standard of audio quality.
One new feature of the Sonos Arc Ultra is the new centre channel architecture which enhances the speech for a new level of dialogue clarity. This can also be adjusted in the Sonos app.
The Sonos Arc Ultra connects to your TV with the HDMI eARC connection which then allows it to be controlled with your TV’s remote, the Sonos app, Sonos voice control or with Amazon Alexa.
The unit’s touch controls are grouped on a ledge behind the soundbar so as not to offer any visual distraction.
The Sonos Sub 4 next generation subwoofer makes an ideal companion to the soundbar to create a deep dynamic low frequency that could rattle your windows in their frames.
It’s also possible to pair the Sub 4 four with the arc ultra, arc or beam to enhance the bass.
You can also pair two Sub 4s together for maximum bass that will heighten your viewing experience.
The Sonos Arc Ultra and Sonos Sub 4 are available in black and white and go on sale on October 29, 2024. They will be priced at $1,799 and $1,299 respectively.
