Telstra expands customer service 24/7 to Facebook

In an industry first, Telstra has expanded its customer service to Facebook to provide users with round the clock support for its products and services.

My Telstra on Facebook is a new application which will provide a way for customers to access and manage their accounts from the world’s largest social networking site.

With more than half of Australia’s population regular Facebook users, Telstra’s aim is to provide more convenient access to their accounts from within the site.

The final release of the app is scheduled for June but a trial with the first 1000 members who linked their Facebook and Telstra accounts is already underway.

“More than half of all Australians are regular Facebook users, so it makes sense to give customers the option of using this channel to monitor their product usage, track their bills and take advantage of our 24×7 Live Chat customer service – all without missing a beat of their online social life,” says Telstra Digital executive director Gerd Schenkel.

“Customers will be supported by a dedicated service team 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we promise a response time to posts of one hour or less.”
