Apple Watch Series 7 goes on sale on October 15 with pre-orders kicking off on October 8

Apple today announced the new Apple Watch Series 7 will go on sale in Australia on Friday October 15, 2021, with pre-orders kicking off this week on October 8.

Apple Watch Series 7 has a re-engineered always-on Retina display which has an even thinner border to allow for a larger viewing area while only minimally changing the device’s dimensions.

The added screen space means you can now access a full qwerty keyboard along with two unique new watch faces – Contour and Modular.

Onboard Apple Watch Series 7 is an 18-hour battery along with faster charging that will get the watch to 100 per cent charge 33 per cent faster than the Apple Watch Series 6.

There is also a stronger crack resistant front crystal and it’s the first time an Apple Watch has an IP6X certification for dust resistance while still retaining its WR50 water resistance.

It is now available in 41mm and 45mm sizes but all watch bands from the 40mm and 44mm Apple Watches will still fit on the new Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in stainless steel and aluminium finishes.

There are three stainless steel colours – graphite, silver and gold.

There are five new aluminium finishes – midnight, starlight, green, blue and PRODUCT(RED).

Apple Watch Edition is available in titanium and space black titanium.

Apple Watch Series 7 also includes the new watchOS 8, a new Mindfulness app as well as the ECG app and a blood oxygen sensor.

The Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $599, Apple Watch SE starts at $429 and Apple Watch Series 3 starts at $299.
