Sony launches two travel high zoom cameras that can also shoot 4K

Sony has added two new models to its Cyber-shot range of travel high zoom cameras – the DSC-HX99 and DSC-WX800 – which are designed for users who want a small yet powerful camera by the side.

These new cameras are housed in the world’s smallest body with a zoom range from 24mm at the wide end to 720mm super telephoto.

On top of that, these new Sony models can also capture 4K video.

The HX99 and the WX800 both have the BIONZ X image processing engine combined with a front-end LSI which enables shooting at up to 10 frames per second.

These new Sony models also have a fast AF (autofocus) speed of just 0.09 seconds.

The HX99 allows shooters to capture their images in RAW format with a maximum ISO6400 which allows better results in low light conditions.

Also on board is a Control Ring that can be customised to offer functionality including manual focus or step zooming.

Sony WX800

Each camera has a 180-degree tilt LCD screen which can also be used to frame selfies and group shots.

This is also handy for video bloggers who want to frame themselves correctly when talking to the camera.

Both of the new Sony cameras also include a high contrast retractable OLED viewfinder.

Sony WX800

The huge zoom range available with the HX99 and the WX800 thanks to the Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 24-720mm high magnification and high quality zoom lens.

This makes them an ideal choice to meet the demands of travel photography and being small enough to carry around as your daily shooter.

The HX99 and WX800 can also capture stunning 4K video and shoot fast moving objects.
