Tech Guide episode 79, hosted by editor Stephen Fenech, offers the definitive wrap-up of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Stephen has just returned to Australia from the huge tech tradeshow and discusses the many highlights.
These include new TVs that are curved and flexible along with wearable devices like LG’s Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Headphones.
Also discussed are other devices like June to tell you when you get too much sun and Tinke which can give you important medical readings that usually requires a doctor.
At CES, connectivity between devices was also a huge theme as well as the ability to control products and appliances remotely like Belkin’s range of WeMo products and LG’s new HomeChat service.
Stephen also discussed a new eye tracking technology that has the potential to change the way we use our mobile devices and a new iSwimband that could save a child from drowning.
There are two Tech Guide interviews in this week’s episode – one with Consumer Electronics Association CEO Gary Shapiro – the organiser of CES and the other with Netgear CEO Patrick Lo who talks us through the latest Netgear products unveiled at CES.
