Sony has launched a new premium home theatre system and soundbar which offer a multidimensional sound experience so you can hear and feel the action in every corner of your room.
The new models include the HT-A9 and the HT-A7000 which provide an immersive soundscape for watching your movies, listening to your music or playing games.
Sony has also introduced optional wireless subwoofers and wireless rear speakers which can add even more depth and quality to your home audio experience.
HT-A9 HOME THEATRE SYSTEM – $2,299
This is a multiple speaker system so you can hear sound from all directions through Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound and Sound Field optimisation.
The A9 uses dual microphones in each speaker to measure their position in your room with the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creating up to 12 phantom speakers from the four physical speakers by synthesising sound waves.
The result is Sony’s widest ever sound field so everyone in the room gets the same experience.
The A9 speakers feature Sony’s latest omnidirectional block design with its cylindrical shape providing 360 degree sound so you are free to position them anywhere.
The speakers also have a larger diaphragm area for richer bass and clear sound.
The A9 also allows music fans to enjoy their tracks the way the artist intended with High-Resolution Audio and 360 Reality Audio so you’ll feel as if the musicians are right there in the room with you.
Also on board is DSEE Extreme which can restore the high range sound of compressed digital music in real-time.
Users can also easily access popular music services like Spotify and stream favourite albums and playlists via Bluetooth or through Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2.
Setting up the A9 home theatre system is easy as plugging it in, connecting it to your TV via HDMI and powering them on.
The speakers all connect wirelessly to a control box so there are no cables running across your living space.
HT-A7000 SOUNDBAR – $1,699
The A7000 7.1.2 channel soundbar includes two upfiring speakers, for overhead sound along with two beam tweeters and five front speakers for wider surround sound as well as a built-in dual subwoofer for added bass.
The soundbar is coupled with Vertical Surround Engine and S Force Pro so viewers can truly immerse themselves with virtual surround sound with the added quality of Dolby Atmos and DTS-X
The Sony Vertical Surround Engine can place sound in vertical space to give you the impression that sounds are coming from above without the need to install in-ceiling speakers.
The A7000 is also great for listening to music in High-Resolution Audio and 360 Reality Audio so it sounds like you are in the middle of a concert.
Also aboard the A7000 is includes DSEE Extreme to upscale compressed digital music in real time.
Users can plug in the A7000 using the HDMI e-ARC connection and power on – that’s how simple it is to set up.
