Apple kicks off in-store Apple Watch purchases in Australia

Australia today became the first country in the world where customers can reserve their Apple Watch online and then pick it up in any of the country’s 21 Apple retail stores.

Reserve and Pick Up allows customers to choose their Apple Watch and watchband and make an appointment to collect and pay for it.

The customer can choose the Apple store and a suitable day and time.

Once completed he or she will receive a unique registration via text message to confirm their reservation.

Apple has even designed new custom bags specially designed for the Apple Watch which are completely different to the regular soft draw strings bags used for other purchases.

Not all Apple Watch models are available for pick up in store.

If the model is available for in-store pick up the “Check reservation availability” option will appear on the order page.

Apple Watch went on sale in Australia on April 24 – the first place in the world where customers could get their hands on it thanks to the time difference.

There are three models of the Apple Watch – Apple Watch Sport (starting at $499) Apple Watch stainless steel (starting at $799) and Apple Watch Edition 18-Carat Gold (starting from $14,000).
