360Fly 4K 360-degree camera pricing and availability announced

When it was released last year, the 360Fly allowed users to film in every direction – at the same time. Now it’s even better with the release of the 360Fly 4K which adds even more resolution and a host of new features.

Onboard is a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a new image sensor that has nearly four times the resolution of the original HD model at 360-degrees in 4K at 2880 x 2880.

But on top of the device’s higher resolution, there are a number of other enhancements.

These include:

Also known as first person POV (point of view) mode, this allows users to shoot a regular video which is shot in 16:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Not all occasions require 360 degree videos so now you can use this mode.

Now you can capture incredible 360-degree time lapse videos which allows users to select 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 second shutter intervals.

The 360Fly can find your GPS location so you can tag locations and the altimeter and accelerometer means you can also track altitude and speed.

There is now 64GB of memory onboard the 360Fly 4K which is double what is aboard the HD version so you can fit about 90 minutes of 4K video.

The device now has clearer indicator lights around the button and the collar of the device so you can easily see what mode you’re in and whether you’re recording.

Users will also be able to live stream their 360-degree videos so your friends and family can see all of the action. You can already do it one-to-one with the LIVIT app but we’re expecting this to push put to Facebook and Twitter in the near future.

And there is likely to be even more features added to the 360Fly 4K through firmware upgrades.

The 360Fly 4K goes on sale this week and will be available from JB Hi-Fi and other specialty channels for $849.95.

The 360Fly HD is also still available and is priced at $649.95.
