VTech VS150 is a cordless telephone and home security system in one

Security is one of the most important aspects of the modern home and VTech has cleverly incorporated smart monitoring features into its new VS150 Twin DECT6.0 Cordless Phone.

The VS150 has VSmart wire-free home monitoring that can keep you updated with notifications from the sensors positioned around the house.

The unit comes with two contact sensors which can be attached to any door, window or gate.

The VS150 can pair up to 30 sensors including garage door sensors and motion sensors which are sold separately.

As a cordless phone the VS150 has a main base station with an answering machine and two handsets – one that rests and recharges with the base station and a smaller secondary base that can be placed in another area of the house.

The sensors, which are already registered to the base station so there is no fiddling frustrating set-up and pairing, send a notification to the handsets and the base station to announce when a door has been opened or if motion is detected.

And if you’re not at home, the VS150 can make an automated call to up to three pre-programmed numbers when the sensors are triggered.

The device stores the latest 50 alert messages so you can see where and when each sensor was triggered.

And don’t worry if you’ve got pets in your house. The VS150 has a pet immunity setting so the motion sensor will ignore small and medium size pets – cats and dogs that weigh less than 25kg

The system provides an easy-to-use and easy-to-install security system on top of an excellent cordless phone.

The VS150 has an advanced dual antenna system for extended range with a communication feature that allows users to talk to each other within the house on the handsets like an internal intercom system.

It’s also possible to transfer calls between handsets as well as three-way conference calls – both of the VS150’s handsets and an external call.

The VS150 can store up to 50 numbers and can remember the last 10 numbers called for easy redial.

The onboard answering machine has 22 minutes of record time with each message having its own time and date stamp.

There’s a volume booster function with the VS150 which is also hearing aid compatible.
