Samsung announces pricing for Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge

samsungifa14unpacked17Samsung has revealed Australian launch dates and pricing for its next generation smartphones– the Galaxy Note 4 and the curved Galaxy Note Edge.

Also announced were pricing and availability for the latest Samsung smartwatch – the Gear S along with the Gear VR (Virtual Reality).

The Galaxy Note 4 has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 16-megapixel camera and is powered by a quad-core 2.7Ghz processor.

The Galaxy Note 4 has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 16-megapixel camera and is powered by a quad-core 2.7Ghz processor.

It will go on sale in Australia on October 29 and will be priced at $949.

Australia will be one of a few select countries to receive the Galaxy Note Edge when it hits stores on November 5.

The device has the same Quad HD Super AMOLED screen – slightly smaller at 5.6-inches – as the Galaxy Note 4 but it has a curve on the right edge of the screen.

This curved edge works independently of the main screen and serves as a mini screen that becomes the dock for your most used apps as well as a notification bar.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The Galaxy Note Edge will be priced at $1,249 – the same price as Apple 128GB 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. – and it will have 32GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot to expand the memory even further.

Samsung’s latest smartwatch – its biggest ever with a 2-inch Super AMOLED curved display – connects to a compatible Samsung smartphone.

But it can also operate independently with its own SIM card when outside the range of your mobile device.

The Samsung Gear S smartwatch will go on sale here in November for $449.

Samsung’s all new Gear VR – with the VR short for Virtual Reality – will provide an immersive entertainment experience.

Worn on your head like an oversized pair of goggles, the Gear VR has no built-in screen – that’s the job of your Galaxy Note 4 which clips into the device.

The Gear VR will also be released in November and will be priced at $249.
