Modern technology gives us many things.

Sony’s new Xperia XA1 smartphone packs in high end features at an entry-level price

Sony Mobile has announced the pricing and availability of its new Xperia XA1 smartphone –  the latest addition to the Xperia family –  which offers impressive features at an affordable price.

Announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, the device has a 5-inch screen and a borderless design and boasts a stunning 23-megapixel high-resolution camera with super quick Hybrid Autofocus so you’ll never miss a moment.

On the front is an 8-megapixel camera with a 23mm wide-angle lens so you can capture your whole group in a selfie or the landmark behind you.

The Sony Xperia XA1 even has a new Hand Shutter feature so you can take the perfect selfie with just a wave your hand.

“We’re thrilled to bring the new Xperia XA1 to Australia,” said John Featherstone, Manager Director of Sony Mobile Communications, Oceania.

“We’ve taken Sony’s digital camera expertise to deliver the leading rear and front cameras for the Xperia XA1.

“Its exceptional camera technology is perfectly suited to capture everyday spontaneous moments in the most convenient and user-friendly way. We know it will exceed expectations.”

The device is powered by the efficient Mediatek helio P20 octa-core processor and includes Stamina Mode to extend your battery life when you really need it by disabling certain non-essential features and functions.

Speaking of the battery, the device also includes Qnovo Adapt Charging which monitors the batteries health continuously and adjusts the charging current to avoid damage and preserve its lifespan.

The Sony Xperia XA1 also supports fast charging so you can get a full day of power in minutes, not hours.

Another feature, Sony’s Smart Cleaner, also comes into play to manage the device’s memory by clearing cache and deactivating used apps so you’re left with the best speed and performance.

The XA1 also has built-in intelligence with Xperia Actions so it can learn the owner’s usage patterns and suggest customisable settings and recommendations.

The Sony Xperia XA1 is available now from JB Hi-Fi (in black) and Sony stores and online (in black and white) and is priced at $399.
