Drone photography is more popular than ever and it produces some stunning videos and images and now there’s an easier way to manage your content in the field with the new Seagate DJI Fly Drive.
Created in partnership with DJI, the world’s leading manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), the DJI Fly Drive from Seagate allows drone pilots to store, manage, back-up, download and share their photos and videos wherever they’ve landed their drone.
The drive has 2TB capacity – that’s enough room to store pictures and videos from up to 250 flights – and a dedicated microSD card slot so you can take the memory card from your drone and review your images and videos when you connect the unit to your laptop with the included USB-C cable.
The DJI Fly Drive acts as a memory card reader and a place where you can back up all your content before you take to the air again.
It is also UHS-II rated so it’s fast which means you can drag and drop 4K videos from the card to the drive or to the computer fairly quickly via the USB-C connection.
The Seagate drive itself is pretty small – it’s about the size of a deck of cards – so it’s easy to carry with you for your next drone flight.
There’s a protective rubber bumper that fits around the drive so it can handle the daily bumps and scrapes while you’re on the road with your drone.
You can have some peace of mind it will be protected inside your drone case that might be filled with other equipment.
Despite it being called the DJI Fly Drive, the device will work with any microSD card even if you take it out of a regular camera or another drone brand.
At the end of the day, you’ll have a back-up of all your files on the drive as well as an easy way to get them on to your computer.
As an added bonus, Seagate has also included a complimentary two-month membership to Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud – one of the most popular video editing applications.
The Seagate DJI Fly Drive with 2TB capacity is available now from Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi and Bing Lee for $179.
