Modern technology gives us many things.

New redesigned Kindle e-reader has adjustable display brightness

Amazon has unveiled an all-new Kindle e-reader which has an updated design and allows users to adjust the display brightness depending on the lighting conditions whether they’re inside or out.

The redesigned Kindle also features the latest electronic ink technology for even better contrast and a real paper-like reading experience.

The 6-inch 167ppi (pixels per inch) glare-free display has even better contrast and uses capacitive touch to prevent accidental swipes.

The new adjustable front light provides the precise amount of light for your reading depending on your environment and still provides weeks of use on a single charge.

The refreshed design has slightly more rounded corners and edges but it still thin and light enough to hold in one hand for hours at a time.

The onboard 4GB storage is large enough to hold thousands of books – your entire library.

Also onboard is:

Whispersync—Saves and synchronises your last page read, bookmarks, and annotations from your Kindle eBooks across all of your Kindle devices and apps, so you can always pick up where you left off on any device.

Goodreads—Kindle is integrated with the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations, with over 85 million members and 86 million book reviews.

X-Ray—Explore the “Bones of the Book”—see all the passages across a book that mention relevant ideas, fictional characters, historical figures, places, or topics of interest.

Smart Lookup—Integrates a full dictionary definition with other reference information via X-Ray and Wikipedia.

Reading Benefits for Prime—Prime members can enjoy unlimited access to more than 1,000 books and comics with Prime Reading as well as one free pre-released book a month with Amazon First Reads.

Priced at $139, the new Kindle is available in black or white and will go on sale on April 10 from amazon.com.au/kindle as well as JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and other selected retailers.
