The new Hupnos sleep mask can help you stop snoring – and prevent an elbow in the ribs

Ever had an elbow in the ribs in the middle of the night because you’ve been snoring? A new product unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show called Hupnos could be the answer.

Hupnos, which is the Greek word for sleep, is a sleep mask that works with a smartphone application and monitors your sleeping position and listens out for snoring.

If it does hear the wearer snoring it emits a gentle vibration that will stir the person so they move their position while not being strong enough to completely wake them.

The app also tracks and analyses your sleep to help users find the best sleep solution. It links to the mask using Bluetooth.

The mask also has a patent pending EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure) technology that can increase the pressure of your expiration and open up your airways to help to prevent you from snoring.

It actually uses the snorer’s own breath and redirects it to open the airways so air can pass quietly.

There have been many products that claim to stop people snoring including sleep strips, chin straps, pillows and mouth pieces.

The Hupnos sleep mask combines the benefits of a mask with the monitoring and pressurising technology to deliver a solution that may help you and your partner enjoy an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

Hupnos is available now through its Indiegogo page and is priced at $US125 plus shipping.
