Samsung has announced its latest soundbars – the N950 and N850 – which have been engineered in the company’s LA-based audio labs to deliver remarkable cinematic sound.

The N950 provides 7.1.4 surround sound with Dolby Atmos while the N850 produces 5.1.2 channels.

The new Samsung soundbars are designed to offer high performance as well as simplicity so customers can easily enhance their viewing experience.

Each of the soundbars produce room-filling audio with impressive directional surround sound.

The N950 also has Dolby Atmos which makes the sound appear to come from above and all directions.

Also included are two rears with up-firing speakers to add to the Dolby Atmos effect and produce atmospheric sounds.

There is also a powered subwoofer to supply deep bass to make scenes come alive.

Under the hood of the N950 and N850 are 17 and 13 speakers respectively with each supported by dedicated amplifiers as well as upward and side firing speakers on each end.

This the sound bars also support the DTS:X audio along with 4K passed through and 32-bit sound upscaling.

And when connected to a Samsung TV, it could all be controlled with one remote or through an app on your smart phone.

The Samsung N950 and N850 soundbars can be accessed via the SmartThings app and also controlled using Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.

“Australians are increasingly looking to soundbars to complete their home entertainment set-up and we are seeing greater demand for products that deliver a rich and immersive audio to support the TV viewing experience,” says Hass Mahdi, head of audio visual, Samsung Australia.

“The N950 and N850 are defining products for Samsung and a testament to our deep commitment to deliver products that break new ground for our offering and give Australians an incredible experience.”

The Samsung N950 and N850 will be available from mid-August and will be priced at $1,999 and $1,499 respectively.
