Apple launches celebration for a decade of iTunes

ituneslogothumbIt's been 10 years since Apple opened the virtual doors of the iTunes Music Store and changed the way we buy music, movies, TV shows, apps and books.

It was April 28, 2003 when the first iTunes Store went online in the US to give people and easy – and legal – way to download digital music.

At the time the store had just 200,000 songs in its library priced at 99 cents each.

Mobile data, messaging revenue overtakes voice for the first time

This reflects the changing habits of users when it comes to their mobile devices.

Apps have helped data and messaging now become the primary use of our device ahead of voice calling which is now just thought of as just another application.

World's first sensory underwear transfers touch from a smartphone app

fundawearDurex has created the world’s first sensory underwear that allows the sensation of touch to be transferred from a smartphone app.

Call Fundawear, they can be worn by men and women and provide a way to transfer touch when they are apart.

The touch input from one person’s smartphone using the app is sent via a signal across the internet in real time and the sensation is recreated through the mini sensors inside the other person’s garment.

Tech Guide partners with Leading Edge Computers to provide instore reviews

Leading Edge Computers is one of largest independent IT and technology specialised retailers with more than 135 stores Australia-wide.

The partnership between Tech Guide and Leading Edge Computers will make it possible for customers to access Tech Guide’s online reviews for a product they are browsing in the store.

Recycle your e-waste with TechCollect in world record attempt

techcollectAustralia has an opportunity to set a world record for the most e-waste collected for recycling in a single week between April 20 and 28.

TechCollect – Australia’s newest recycling program – is the company behind this free initiative to encourage people to recycle their old products.

People can recycle products like computers, printers and old televisions and keep them out of landfill.

Two Blokes Talking Tech live from Samsung's huge smart TV launch

Stephen and Trevor also talk about the various features of the Samsung’s smart TVs including the ability to talk to the television and have it talk back to you - and all in an Australian accent.

Foxtel Go app comes to Android - but only on Samsung devices

foxtelgo4The popular Foxtel Go app will finally land on Android devices on June 3 but it will only be accessible on Samsung devices after an exclusive partnership with Foxtel until the end of October.

Foxtel Go was first released on the iPad last year and earlier this year on the iPhone with Android users waiting anxiously to get their own version.

The app allows Foxtel subscribers to view live and catch up content on the iPhone and iPad.
