TCL Electronics will release its first 4K TV in Australia in mid September – the 65-inch E5691 with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 that will be priced under $5,000.
The E5691 is an LED edge-lit smart TV has four times the resolution of a regular full high definition TV.
And TCL’s new 4K Ultra High Definition television will be very competitively priced at $4,999.
The E5691 can also upscale content to 4K quality and will have built-in wireless and connectivity to access on demand services like SBS along with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Skype.
Also on board TCL’s TV is a technology called Nscreen which allows users to share media wirelessly from their mobile devices to the TV screen.
There are also active 3D viewing and USB PVR capabilities with Time Shift.
Other TVs in the TCL line-up will include the E5510 and F3500 full HD LED 3D Smart TVs.
They have a thin bezel, gunmetal grey finish and a glass base.
The E5510 will be available in mid September in a number of sizes – 32-inch ($549), 40-inch ($899), 46-inch ($1,199), 50-inch ($1,399) and 55-inch ($1,599).
The F3500 will be offered in 55-inch ($1,399) and 65-inch ($2,699) and will also go on sale in mid-September.
